Mackie Myers is partnering with a growing food business to recruit a VP Controller. This is a confidential search for a senior accounting leader who can take ownership of the company’s accounting function while operating as a trusted partner to the CFO and wider executive team.

The business is looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the commercial awareness and leadership skills required in a growing, operationally complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function, including close, consolidation, reporting and financial controls
• Maintain accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting and manufacturing related financial processes
• Lead annual audit, tax and compliance activities
• Improve accounting systems, processes and internal controls
• Develop and lead the accounting team
• Partner with operations, supply chain and finance leadership
• Support strategic projects, potential transactions and business growth
• Deputize for the CFO when required

Candidate Profile

• Significant accounting leadership experience within food, beverage or another inventory based consumer business
• Strong understanding of inventory, costing and manufacturing accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• Experience leading accounting through growth, change or increased complexity
• Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands on problem solving
• Strong communication skills and executive presence

The final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications and the scope of the successful candidate’s background.
