Vice President of Marketing

Mackie Myers is recruiting a Vice President of Marketing for a growing food and beverage business in the Los Angeles area. This is a confidential executive search for a commercially focused marketing leader who can build brand awareness, accelerate consumer demand and support the company’s next stage of growth.

The Vice President of Marketing will own the overall marketing strategy and lead the development of a scalable, high performing marketing function. The successful candidate will combine strong brand building experience with a detailed understanding of commercial performance and marketing return on investment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the company’s overall brand and marketing strategy

• Build awareness, consumer demand and long term brand equity

• Lead brand positioning, consumer messaging and go to market strategy

• Oversee integrated marketing across digital, social, content, experiential, partnerships and traditional channels

• Develop marketing strategies to support retail, ecommerce and wholesale growth

• Partner with sales leadership on customer specific plans and retail activation

• Lead innovation strategy, product launches and market entry campaigns

• Own the marketing budget and ensure resources are allocated toward the highest performing opportunities

• Establish clear performance metrics and improve measurement of marketing effectiveness

• Use consumer, customer and category insights to guide commercial decisions

• Build and develop the internal marketing team while managing external agencies and partners

• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on company strategy and growth priorities

• Support board, investor and other senior stakeholder presentations where required

Candidate Profile

• Significant senior marketing leadership experience within food, beverage or another consumer goods category

• Strong track record of building and scaling consumer brands

• Experience leading both brand strategy and marketing execution

• Understanding of retail, ecommerce and omnichannel consumer journeys

• Commercially minded with experience managing significant marketing budgets

• Strong knowledge of consumer insights, category trends and marketing performance measurement

• Experience launching new products and supporting expansion into new channels or markets

• Proven ability to build, lead and develop high performing teams

• Comfortable operating in a fast growing and evolving business

• Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders

The final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications and the scope of the successful candidate’s background.
