Mackie Myers is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a growing personal care business in the Los Angeles area. This is a confidential opportunity to join a collaborative finance team within a consumer brand experiencing continued expansion.

The Senior Accountant will play an important role in the monthly close, balance sheet management and ongoing improvement of the company’s accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Maintain balance sheet accuracy and investigate account variances
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations and reserve analysis
• Assist with audit preparation and external reporting requirements
• Partner with accounts payable, accounts receivable and operations teams
• Support improvements to accounting systems and processes
• Produce financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects

Candidate Profile

• Several years of progressive accounting experience
• Consumer goods, personal care, beauty or inventory based experience preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and month end close
• Experience working with an established ERP system
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to investigate discrepancies
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related subject
• CPA or progress toward CPA would be beneficial

The final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications and the scope of the successful candidate’s background.
