The successful candidate will combine strong technical formulation knowledge with the project management and communication skills required to work across product development, quality, regulatory, operations and marketing.
• Lead formulation and development projects from concept through commercialization
• Develop new formulas and improve existing products
• Manage testing, stability, compatibility and performance requirements
• Partner with regulatory and quality teams to ensure product compliance
• Support scale up, pilot batches and manufacturing trials
• Troubleshoot formulation and production challenges
• Maintain accurate formulation, testing and technical documentation
• Evaluate raw materials, ingredients and supplier capabilities
• Monitor ingredient, formulation and consumer trends
• Manage and develop chemists or other technical team members
• Strong cosmetics or personal care formulation experience
• Degree in chemistry, cosmetic science or a related scientific subject
• Experience taking products from laboratory development into commercial production
• Knowledge of raw materials, emulsions, surfactants and formulation techniques
• Understanding of cosmetic testing and regulatory requirements
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Experience leading or mentoring technical employees
• Comfortable managing multiple product development timelines
