The successful candidate will be a visible, hands on quality leader who can build effective systems while partnering constructively with production and operational teams.
• Lead plant level quality assurance and food safety programs
• Maintain HACCP, preventive controls and food safety plans
• Prepare for regulatory, customer and third party audits
• Manage nonconformances, corrective actions and root cause investigations
• Oversee product holds, releases and quality documentation
• Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues
• Partner with manufacturing, sanitation, maintenance and R&D
• Develop and deliver food safety and quality training
• Maintain SOPs, specifications and quality records
• Lead and develop quality team members
• Food manufacturing quality or food safety experience
• Previous experience managing or supervising quality employees
• Strong understanding of FDA or USDA requirements
• Knowledge of SQF, BRC or another GFSI recognized standard
• HACCP certification required
• PCQI certification preferred
• Strong audit preparation and corrective action experience
• Degree in food science, microbiology or a related subject preferred
The final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications and the scope of the successful candidate’s background.
