Mackie Myers is partnering exclusively with a high-growth international home goods and consumer products business to hire a Controller for its U.S. operations.
  
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role owning the full accounting function during a period of rapid scale. The business is expanding across major retailers, e-commerce and nationwide distribution, with increasing operational and reporting complexity. They need a Controller who can set the standard, build the function properly, and still get into the detail.
  
This is a genuine build environment. New products, new channels, new systems and increasing volume. You’ll be expected to strengthen controls, improve processes and help the business scale cleanly rather than simply keep the lights on.
The Opportunity
  
Reporting into U.S. Finance leadership, you will lead all accounting operations for the U.S. business and play a key role in shaping how the function scales alongside growth and international integration.
  
You’ll partner closely with Sales, Operations and Supply Chain on areas that really matter in consumer goods: inventory, trade spend, deductions, margins and cost control. This is a role for someone who understands how accounting actually works inside a fast-moving consumer products business.
Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead all U.S. accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, deductions, inventory accounting and tax compliance
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes in line with U.S. GAAP and group reporting requirements
• Lead group consolidation, statutory reporting and external audit processes
• Design, implement and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and procedures as the business scales
• Partner cross-functionally on trade spend, retailer deductions, margin analysis, inventory reconciliation and operational accounting
• Oversee accounting systems and tools, including D365 and trade spend management platforms
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, driving accuracy, efficiency and accountability
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to support scalability and international growth

What They’re Looking For

• CPA required with a strong technical accounting foundation
• Background in public accounting (Top 10 preferred) with transition into industry
• Experience in a high-growth, international environment within home goods, consumer products or broader CPG
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus
• Proven experience managing big-box retailer deductions, trade spend and multi-channel revenue
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced environment where building matters as much as maintaining
• Strong communicator with credibility across Finance, Operations and Commercial teams
• Systems-driven mindset; experience with D365 and trade spend tools strongly preferred
