Mackie Myers is partnering with a growing apparel company to recruit an Accounting Manager. This confidential role will oversee core accounting activities while helping strengthen the systems, controls and reporting required for continued growth.

The position will suit an accounting professional who understands inventory based businesses and is comfortable operating across both detailed accounting and wider process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close
• Review journal entries, reconciliations and balance sheet accounts
• Oversee inventory accounting and related reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Support annual audit and tax processes
• Improve accounting systems, controls and operating procedures
• Partner with operations, supply chain, wholesale and ecommerce teams
• Manage and develop accounting team members
• Investigate accounting and system discrepancies
• Support the Controller or senior finance leadership as required

Candidate Profile

• Progressive accounting experience, including team leadership
• Apparel, fashion, retail or consumer goods experience preferred
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting
• Experience managing the month end close process
• Strong ERP and Excel capabilities
• NetSuite experience would be beneficial
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA preferred but not essential

The final base salary will depend on experience, qualifications and the scope of the successful candidate’s background.
