Accounting Manager

Mackie Myers is partnering with a high growth consumer goods business to hire an Accounting Manager. This role will sit within a scaling finance function and play a key role in building out accounting infrastructure as the U.S. business continues to grow rapidly.

This is a hands on accounting leadership role with significant exposure across the business. It will suit someone who enjoys building processes, improving controls and operating in a fast paced, evolving environment rather than maintaining the status quo.

The Opportunity
You will own core general ledger accounting responsibilities while partnering closely with finance leadership on month end, year end, audit and technical accounting matters. Inventory accounting will be a major focus given the complexity of the supply chain and rapid growth in volume. You will also help shape accounting policies, controls and scalable processes as the business matures.

  • Lead month end and year end close processes in line with GAAP
  • Play a key role in inventory accounting including valuation, reconciliations, reserves and controls
  • Partner with operations and supply chain on inventory movements, cost of goods and variances
  • Support external audits and act as a primary point of contact for auditors
  • Research and support technical accounting topics and policy documentation
  • Build and improve accounting processes, controls and internal documentation
  • Support system improvements and automation initiatives as the business scales
  • Work cross functionally with finance, operations and commercial teams

  • 3–8 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Public accounting background strongly preferred

  • Meaningful experience with inventory accounting in a CPG, manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes and controls
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, growth stage business
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across teams
  • CPA preferred but not required
